Amanjena Resort
Amanjena, the first Amanresort on the African continent, is located just seven kilometers outside of Marrakesh. Amanjena means "peaceful paradise" in Sanskrit. Amanjena’s 34 pavilions and seven, two-story maisons are set within the Palmeraie, an oasis of palms and old olive trees.
The resort is situated alongside an 18-hole golf course, with a second course less than a kilometer away. Amanjena looks out onto the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains.

Accommodations
Amanjena’s distinctive Moorish presence begins with high earthen walls that frame the resort. Its centerpiece is a 60-meter-square bassin. Traditionally, the bassin was a holding pool used to collect irrigation water from the High Atlas Mountains. Amanjena’s pavilions and maisons extend from the bassin, fanning out in two concentric settings separated by reflection pools. |

Each air-conditioned pavilion includes a bedroom/living room and a spacious bathroom and dressing area. The living area consists of a high, domed ceiling, a king-size bed, a day bed, and an open fireplace. There’s also a mini-bar, a CD player, and a TV/VCR. Green Moroccan marble and a soaking tub in a garden setting highlight the bathroom. Each pavilion also enjoys a private courtyard complemented by a gazebo, a lounge sofa, and a dining area.
An upstairs master bedroom and bathroom distinguish Amanjena’s seven, two-bedroom maisons. The main floor features include a living and dining area with a connecting bedroom and bathroom. The maisons also come with a private swimming pool and a gazebo. Three of the maisons, Le Poivrier, L’Olivier, and Le Palmier, are favored with a garden and an outdoor fireplace. Each is served by a personal butler.

Resort Facilities
Classic Moroccan motifs define the Lobby with its long, arched entrance gallery and soaring ceiling, its open-air courtyards and covered salons. To the left of the Lobby are the salons of the Bar/Fumoir. Further along is the Library, with its six-meter ceiling, its fireplace, and a balcony that runs around the room’s perimeter.
