Hiking Trek in the Ait Bougmez (The Valley of Happiness)

Once you travel through the high valleys of the Atlas mountains, you begin to want to know its people. You see them smiling at you when you pass by, but it's a closed world to most travelers. This tour gives you an opportunity to visit the mountain villages and interact with the people to discover an undeniable hospitality and an unsuspected source of riches. You will be privileged to enjoy this bounty for a few days.

Your mountain guide was born in those valleys and will lead you safely through the passes. Both his family and his friends will open their doors to you. We have forged strong links with these people and a warm welcome awaits us. You will discover the everyday life that goes on within these adobe houses, in the shadowy kitchen where a Tagine, a tasty Moroccan stew, is simmering on the live coals. You'll also enjoy the amazing architecture of adobe Ksars (fortified villages) with their thick walls and decorated ceilings.

This is a rare opportunty to share the friendship and the daily life of these village-dwellers. You will hike for 3 to 5 hours each day as we visit different families and experience more intense moments of friendship and understanding.

All nights are spent in the homes of local families: with simple overnight accommodation, often including toilets, a shower, and sometimes a Hammam, the Moroccan steam bath. Two or three rooms are reserved for us as well as terraces under the stars.

This tour offers a special value since it includes all meals from dinner on the day of your arrival through breakfast on the day of your departure.
